 Facebook and Mafia Wars
« Thread Started on Aug 19, 2009, 7:23pm »

A number of people from this board are on Facebook and some of us are playing Mafia Wars - a very addictive game.

This is a shameless request for those on Facebook who aren't yet registered on Mafia Wars to please set yourself up even if you don't want to play, and add me as a friend. And Dianne. And Greg. ;D

Who else plays?

Do you want to play and don't understand how?

I escaped! [image] So much of my free (and not so free) time was spent on Mafia Wars. So much waiting. Waiting for the energy or stamina to build up high enough to do something. Waiting for when I could use my next energy pack. And most of all, waiting for the dang game to respond.

Shut down my character on Sun night after spending countless hours giving away practically anything of value.

I'm really disappointed with how many problems and inconsistencies exist in that software, yet they keep rolling out "new and better" upgrades. I think they need to spend more time on the current issues. And geez, I think some of the new upgrades actually ruined the game. Can we say "gifting collection items" and boosts?

But I'm also very disappointed with Zynga in general. To get 115 more reward points I signed up for the Doubleday book club. Never got the points and was left hanging by them even after they finally agreed to give me the points (watch for them in 24 hours) 3 weeks ago. I won't ever be playing a game by them again.

So I finally broke down and joined Facebook. I figured I can't do a study on it and not have a page. Dianne found me (yay) and wow, she wasn't kidding! Mafia Wars galore! My mother also threatened me with I don't know what unless I joined her in Farm Town. Eeek. Too much! Too much!!

Ah I will have to look for you on Facebook. I don't know if I have Dianne as a friend on there or not. It is very addicting. I have actually started getting into the egg games such as Hatchlings, Egg Buddies and 101 collections.. Too much to do on there and not enough time to do it all in...

Ain't that the truth. I'm starting to reject some 'gifts' and invites because I don't have time for the games. I did finally break down and join a group so I could grow my Mafia. I'm also playing Vampire Wars and Castle Age, along with Farmville, Farm Town, an aquarium game and a couple of others.

It's hard, but then again I have to wait for my energy to refill and that takes a while, especially when you can only get one energy pack a day. That's why I'm hiding some of the game apps on my news feed when I see them, that way I'm not tempted to go give them a look see and get sucked into another game.

Yes I know what you mean about being sucked into some of those apps and games. I have actually started ignoring some of them and I limit my time on the computer.

I'm getting ready to shut down my aquariums in Fish World and I've blocked several other apps that people have sent me invites on.

I know I just go into so many apps and then forget about them until someone sends me a gift or something. Then all my crops are dead or fish are dead. I even do restaraunt city and rollercoaser kingdom.

Too many apps not enough time. My son was doing one of mine yesterday, Cafe World. Yes I got hooked on another one. Let alone collecting the eggs and now all the apps.
